New York Times bestselling author Frank Miniter is the author of the new book, The Future of the Gun. At the National Review Online, he has written, “The Anti-Gun Billionaires.” He discusses the gun control Initiative 594 campaign in Washington State, and the billionaires who have contributed to it. Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and his wife Melinda have donated $1 million. Steve Ballmer and Michael Bloomberg have both donated $1 million each. The 18-page law focuses on the message of “universal background checks,” without fully explaining the impact on common transfers of firearms, including lending and gifts. He notes that the NSSF’s campaign FixNICS would address background checks in a practical way. Originally aired on the Sportsman Channel 9/02/14.
